The mechanics and controls of Space Squid are pretty simple and straightforward which are one of the best features of a game if you just want to relax and have fun. You can make your spacecraft move up, down, and horizontally when you drag your fingers in these directions. Your ship flies at a constant speed as it moves from left to right shooting its way through the enemy lines and into the stage boss. It automatically fires its main weapon but you can use the power-up button on the bottom right of the screen to send an area-wide attack to your foes. You can easily one-shot the incoming waves of minions but the boss can take a lot of hits. The ship’s durability is indicated by the heart icon at the upper left of the screen and the number beside it states the hits it can receive without blowing up. Unfortunately, colliding with any enemy unit will destroy your craft instantly regardless of how many hearts you have stored up. The best strategy you can do is to evade enemy fire and units while dealing damage to them at the same time.
